Qualified applicants should possess at least 2 years experience:

• Installing voice / Data / coax / Fiber Optic Cabling
• Termination of Voice / Data / Fiber Optic Cabling
• Test / troubleshoot Voice / Data / Fiber Optic Cabling

Field Service Technician; Telecommunications

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Installation of telecommunications NEMA enclosure and associated TDM equipment.

1. Mounting NEMA boxes
2. Installation of power and voice cabling
3. Punch down 66 blocks
4. DC Power Plant +24V and -48V
5. Grounding and Bonding.
6. Work directly with the NOC for implementation of MOP’s.
7. Turn-up and test circuits
8. Perform periodic maintenance
9. Reporting and completion of the appropriate paperwork

Requirements:

• Ability to work under a time critical schedule.
• Knowledge in troubleshooting faults in T1, DS3, and Ethernet fiber circuits
• Qualified in using test equipment such as TBerd (or equivalent), LAN tester, multimeters, optical power meters, etc.
• Skilled in performing minor or major installations such as rack mounting equipment, running/terminating cables to patch panels, 66 blocks, and other termination including wire wrapping.
• Experience in installing connectors to cable with BNC, RJ-45 , DB-9 and other connectors.
• Knowledge of communications color code
• Full color vision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Flexible work and schedule
• Excellent driving record
• A pre-employment drug screen (negative results) and background check will be required as a condition of employment for successful candidates
